Official ZPE/YASS documentationZPE : benchmark

benchmark (function function[, list parameters[, number tries[, number warmups]]]) ⇒ map

Benchmarks a lambda or function reference inside the current ZPE process and returns millisecond timing statistics.

First available: Version 1.14.11

Parameters

function must be a lambda or function reference. The optional parameters list is passed to that callable on every invocation. tries defaults to 10 and must be at least 1; warmups defaults to 2 and may be 0.

Return value

The returned map contains minimum, median, mean and maximum timings in milliseconds, the complete samples list, and the effective tries and warmups counts. Compilation and process startup are not included.

YASS
$result = ZPE::benchmark(
  (number value) => value * value,
  [12],
  100,
  5
)

print($result["median"])
Use Utilities::benchmark instead when timing external programs and their process startup.
