BalfLaf, or Balf Look and Feel is library of UI elements that can easily be used in any Java Swing project.
For years developers have attempted to make their own smart looking interfaces for Java applications. But I've become very frustrated at how difficult some of them are to work with.
Clean and modern.
Many of the Swing components are boring. Further more, AWT components aren't much better, and are limited by different operating systems.
The look and feel of BalfLaf is meant to be clean and modern.
Fits in right away.
Whilst the look and feel of the window etc. are not part of the UI of the operating system, they are designed to match many modern elements of applications the OS leaves out.
On macOS you'll get your standard traffic light controls and on Windows you'll get the standard cross, maximise and minimise options.
