benchmark (map|list processes[, number warmups[, number runs]]) ⇒ map|list
Benchmarks one or more external command lists and returns process timing statistics in milliseconds.
Process definitions
Every process is a list whose first element is the executable and whose remaining elements are its arguments. Commands are launched directly rather than interpreted by a shell. A map preserves names in the returned results; a list returns results in the same order. Warm-ups default to 2 and measured runs default to 10.
$processes = [ "Python" => ["python3", "standard-algorithms.py"], "PHP" => ["php", "standard-algorithms.php"], "ZPEX" => ["zpex", "-r", "standard-algorithms.yas"] ] $results = Utilities::benchmark($processes, 2, 10) print($results["ZPEX"]["median"])
Return value
Each process result contains process-total minimum, median, mean,
maximum and samples values in milliseconds, plus warmups,
runs and the final captured output. When output contains
Timer finished: ...ms or Execution completed in ...ms, an additional
internal or reported summary is included.
ZPE::benchmark for an in-process YASS callable.
