National 5 Computing Science WDD Practice Assignment 1

In this web development task, you will create a simple website that promotes the adoption of rabbits. The website should provide information about rabbits, their care, and profiles of rabbits available for adoption from a local animal shelter.

Requirements

HTML Structure (5 marks)

Create an HTML document with a proper structure including <html>, <head>, and <body> tags. Use appropriate HTML tags such as headings, paragraphs, lists, and links to organize your content.

You'll get marks for ensuring all of the pages link together (i.e. not just from the homepage but you should be able to get from any page to any other page).

CSS Styling (5 marks)

Apply CSS to style your website. You may use external CSS files to keep the styles separate from HTML.

Implement basic styling for text alignment, headings, and background colors. Make sure your website is visually appealing and easy to read.

Homepage (5 marks)

The homepage is the most important page of any website. For this task, you are expected to make the homepage visually appealing and also ensure that users are hooked to the website from the first time they open it.

  • Create a homepage that welcomes visitors to the website.
  • Include information about why adopting a rabbit is a good choice as a pet.
  • Use images of cute rabbits (Charlie is not allowed to be used!) to make the page more engaging.

Rabbit Care page (5 marks)

Create a separate page that provides information about rabbit care.

Include sections on feeding, housing, exercise, and health care.

Use appropriate headings and lists for clarity.

Rabbit Adoption page (5 marks)

Create a page with profiles of rabbits available for adoption.

Include each rabbit's name, age, gender, and a brief description as well as a (cute) image of them.

Use <h2> elements to seperate the information about different rabbits.

Submission

To achieve full marks, you will need to follow the guidelines above exactly.

You can submit the task with both screenshots of your finished pages and the code on to Google Classroom.
